Dr. Hattie N. Washington is inducted into the Maryland Women's Hall of Fame

On March 15, 2018, the Maryland Commission for Women and the Women Legislators of the Maryland General Assembly inducted five women into the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame. They also presented “Women of Tomorrow” awards to five students during the ceremony at the Miller Senate Office Building in Annapolis. One of the women being inducted to the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame was our very own Dr. Hattie N. Washington. She was nominated by Dr. Valencia Campbell, President, Prince George's County Drug Policy Coalition, Inc.

The Prince George's County Drug Policy Coalition, Inc.'s nominee,
Dr. Hattie Washington, was selected to be inducted into the 2018 Maryland Women's Hall of Fame and Women of Tomorrow Ceremony!

Dr. Washington will be inducted with four extraordinary women into the Maryland Women's Hall of Fame. Five students will be recognized during the Women of Tomorrow Ceremony.

The Maryland Women's Hall of Fame was established in 1985 to recognize women who have made contributions of historic significance to our state. It includes such luminaries as Rachel Carson, Clara Barton and Harriett Tubman, and many others whose contributions are equally significant but less well known.

The Women of Tomorrow Awards program was established in 1997 to recognize young women in middle and high school with records of academic excellence, extraordinary leadership and exceptional community service.

The Prince George’s County Drug Policy Coalition, Inc. is pleased to announce the “Empowering Future Leaders Scholarship Opportunity” for the 2018-2019 academic year.

To be considered, applicants must:
+ Reside in Prince George’s County, District 8 (Camp Springs, Clinton, Forest Heights, Fort Washington, Glassmanor, Marlow Heights, Oxon Hill)
+ Provide an official transcript.
+ Write a one page easy.
